I spent a few minutes today cleaning up the list of racer blogs I track. 82 of them. That's a full field with a waiting list. And well over half of them didn't exist a year ago. Almost daily I get an email from someone letting me know they've just started a cycling blog of their own and want in on the conversation. Roadies, even. Roadies who want to be social and civilized and interact with other roadies, most of whom aren't on the same team, or even in the same category. Makes me think of Robert Townsend to Luco Bertovici in American Flyers: "You almost sound half human," says Townsend. Bertovici (as Barry Muzzin) responds, "I am half human."
Anyway, here's what you came for:
- In which The Unholy Rouleur virtually ensures that he will be subject to out-of-competition surprise drug testing at 2am pretty much every week for the rest of his life
- Sure that endurance base building is important and everything, but perhaps the greatest advantage to all that trainer time in the winter is that it makes Battoowoo Greekgreek even more introspective.
- The Granfalloon (what is that, anyway?) has more from the Bahamas with this race report on going toe-to-toe with the Slipstreamers in the Circuit Race. Helmet tip to Stewie who left a comment the other day pointing to official results from the Bahamas here.
- Half the time, Stormyworld's blog is about cycling. Half the time, it's about computer technology. Today it's about both, and all race promoters and officials should take a look.
- Jay at the Raw Talent Ranch has a new program that opens up the barn for impromptu training camps in February, even if you don't have a full team committed. Be like Russ Langley, Evan Fader, Jenny Bodine and Zach Allison, all of whom put in some solid miles up there in 2007 - check it out.
"If you wish to study a granfalloon/just remove the skin of a toy balloon." KV

"a proud and meaningless association of human beings." Nice. You're all erudite and sh*t. Did you change from 'El Dolor' because you're just too fast to have to suffer anymore?

You're the one who just made a bunch of people look up 'erudite.'
