The Local Racing Sponsor Directory

Let's say you're jonesing for a burrito the size of a human head. Where you going to go - California Tortilla? Taco Bell? Baja Fresh? Probably not. If you're a cyclist (and you are), Chipotle is at the top of your list.

Or maybe you're strolling through the grocery and remember that you're almost out of olive oil. Which goes into your cart - Bertolli? Carapelli? Hey, Filippo is on sale. Nuh-uh. Colavita, no question.

It's great that we know what companies sponsor the pros in our sport. But shouldn't we have the same knowledge of who sponsors local cycling, so we can support them too?

I think so. So I've created a place for all the companies that support us to be listed - the GamJams Local Racing Sponsor Directory. (Also always reachable on the top right of every page, under 'DIRECTORIES'.)

Here's how it works:

• Only companies that sponsor local teams or races are eligible for a listing.
• Companies in the directory have the opportunity to participate in some other high-impact promotions on GamJams (think Daily Candy, but for bike stuff. And weekly, not daily).
• "Local" is the Mid-Atlantic, give or take 100 miles. The site has regular readers from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. If you're "local" to racers in these regions and you sponsor them, your money is good with me.
• Yeah, there's money involved. Less than $200 for a year. It's a good deal.
• I know 'Free' is a better deal. So I'm offering an almost free ($1) 1-month trial for anyone who signs up by October 11. (Tried to do Free but PayPal won't let me. If $1 is a stretch for you, email me and I may be inclined to waive it.)

I know most of you are racers, not sponsors. But if you could let your sponsors know, it'd be a big help - to you. The point of the Directory is to give your sponsors more recognition for the support they're giving you. They're sponsoring you to reach local cyclists. But there are probably more of them here on GamJams (right this instant) than on your weekly team ride. Let's just turn up the volume on the investment they're already making.

I should point out that page listings go in order of signup, not that arbitrary alphabetical nonsense. So signing up early will put a sponsor at the top of their directory page, like, forever. (Sorry, American Classic. Here's your chance, Zipp.)

Sorry Bro, I'll eat at a California Tortilla vs Chipolte any day of the week. They're local (the comapany started in Bethesda in 1995 two years after Chipolte) The menu has more variety, the food is just as good and fresh, the lines are shorter, they take phone orders, the hot sauce selection is really intense and most important of all the hipster d-bag to normal person ratio is far lower at a California Tortilla.

Q'doba is not too bad either.

I'm a Caltort fan too. Being vegetarian I have tons of options and it was actually voted by Washington Post by Best Veggie place to eat at.
