It's award season. Normally that means you double down the retainer on your PR machine with the hopes of snagging some vanity hardware for your mantle and a CO2 shot to inflate your ego.
Not so for Craig Dodson. He's in the running to win $25,000 to give to
the charity of his choice. That's the winner's booty in the Outside Magazine / Crocs "Inspiring Sole" Award. If he wins, Craig also gets a Public Service Ad in Outside Magazine, which he can use to promote the charity of his choice.
Craig is the founder of Richmond Pro Cycling, a local elite squad whose mission is driven as much by giving back to the community as it is by winning races. And they do both - Craig and the team are always out visiting local schools teaching bike safety and speaking about the importance of being good community ambassadors. When they're not racing the USA Crits series, that is - where Craig finished 8th overall in 2008.
