Campy - the home of the $450 cassette.

An Ultegra cassette is close to $400 less than that if you buy it on shop night. You can get a decent entry-level race bike for that price if you wait until the big mail order companies have their fall / early winter sales. You can get a decent carbon wheelset, again through slightly clever shopping, for a bit over twice that price. I don't get it at all.

I picked Shimano cause my bike is loyal to east Asia, but I dream of my rig decked out in SRAM red. That could just be the red/white/and blue flowing through my veins though.
Go USA!

While I have been VERY happy with my switch from Chorus to Red on my road bike I just can't bring myself to switch out the Centaur group on my cross bike. I always wondered why you never saw Campy cross bikes in Europe because they stuff has been flawless for me. All that being said we got in some of the new Dura-ace and I am impressed. I don't think I could ever go back to a group where the brake lever actuates shifts but for all the Shimano users the new stuff will not disappoint.
