For a new racer and a Cat 4, DJ Brew (Artemis) sure has the victory salute thing down. Photo courtesy of Jim Wilson from the Syn-Fit Criterium.
If you know of any other photo galleries or videos from the weekend's racing activity, send them in and I'll include them in a Monday Multimedia update later in the day.
He's going to be doing that same salute in the 3's soon, and very shortly after that as a 2.

As one of the fellows suffering behind him in this pic, I'll second that. Good kick and he used our teams' lines to perfection Saturday an at Jeff Cup. Kudos.

Love the "Gallant Victor" salute!

The guy in second or third, however, is managing to do a Cat4 salute in a Cat4 race. Second place = hands on bars.

Agreed on the Cat 4 salute, and that's me.

Ugh...a pic that I'm in makes it onto gamjams, and in it I'm getting crushed in a sprint? Depressing.
Nice finish DJ.

That salute is well-deserved! His results have been consistently strong, going all the way back to the 2009 Trade Zone series. Keep it going, DJ!

You know what's truly depressing? I placed second behind DJ, and I swore that he beat me by a bike-length. In my book, that's pretty good. Then I saw the pictures and realized that he beat me by something approaching an 18-wheeler-length. Sigh.

I'm with you Martin, it seemed closer that that. I sill think he just nipped the three of us at the line.

Actually, DJ's strong performances began last summer during the Greenbelt training races, about the time he changed out his pink HB tape!
He's been a great teammate to race with...definitely a force to reckon with (and I'm glad he wears purple).
Keep up the strong work, DJ!
