You could probably make the claim that Belgium is the presenting sponsor of just about every cyclocross race in the U.S. That country had as much to do with the race's turnout, popularity and environment as any other contributing party save the promoters themselves.
DCCX can make the unique claim, however, that it is literally sponsored by Belgium. For the second year in a row the Belgian Embassy sponsored the L'il Belgians race, providing coveted Belgian chocolates for the participants. It seems they also provided fan support, as evidenced by the gentleman holding a cowbell and Flandrian flag, and wearing a Belgian trainer to match his Belgian grin. Yes, I'm pretty sure that's a smile. He's 18" from a cyclocross race, clutching cowbell and flag and able to exchange either for beer or frites on the infield. Who wouldn't be smiling?
The picture is by Bruce Buckley, part of his DCCX gallery here.

If you have a shot that you'd like to see as a Featured Photo on GamJams.net, send it in. We try to update on Mondays or Tuesdays with a photo from the previous weekend, so push a few our way as soon as you wipe down your bike and/or your tripod. And no, you don't need to be a pro or even need to take professional pictures. Whatever shows it like it was works great here.
So have at it.
he must have been subdued that day...here's another look!
