There's only one week left to register for Pax Velo's All Hallows Cross, October 31st in Hughesville, MD. The race has everything you'd expect from a cross race. Sand pit? Check. L'il Belgians? Check. Beneficiaries? Check - in this case the Special Olympics of St Mary's County and the Indian Head Rail Trail. Course running through a barn? Check.
Wait - the course runs through a barn? On Halloween? I'm pretty sure there's no barn in Louisville. Or Hoogerheide for that matter.
Alas, call-ups and starting grid spots are assigned by registration order, so you're probably out of luck.
Wait again - there's only one Men's Elite racer signed up so far. 3 elite women. About a dozen B-men and master's. It's not too late to have a respectable starting spot, and a bona fide chance to ride the race you know you have in you.
You know you're not going to make it home from Beacon in time for trick-or-treating. Get yerself into All Hallows Cross and enjoy a pleasant day of suffering closer to home.
