The tentative MABRA 2010 Calendar is now available at MABRA.org, and is peppered with several new, re-cast, returning and expanded events.
- Late 2009's 540Cycling Development Series returns in 2010 as the Vint Hill Classic series, running March 20th and April 24th.
- A criterium returns to Herndon, VA on June 26th, the same weekend as the venerable Reston Town Center Grand Prix, and a week after the Tour of Washington County Stage Race. Look for many racers to time their mid-season peaks for this period.
- On July 31st and August 1st, the Page Valley Road race stretches into a two-day event, now looking to include the Luray Criterium. Chris Gould's efforts to deliver ROI and positive experiences to area businesses and residents are clearly paying off, rewarding him (and us) with a new venue and event.
- And on September 11, GamJams Racing bows the Rockville Twilight Criterium, which is as it sounds - a criterium run at dusk in downtown Rockville. (Actually, only the final race will be run at dusk. Rockville Twilight is scheduled as a full day of racing for all categories, concluding with the featured event under the city streetlights.)
Twilight..Criterium.
Probably the best two words in cycling. Well done GamJams, well done.
Any preliminary details on whether it'll be a 1/2/3 or a Pro/1/2, or Pro only event for the night race?

Jesse, this is GamJams you're talking to. It sure isn't going to be a Pro Only main event. We're looking at a couple different options, but we do love our amateurs here.

I vote for Cat 4 night race. All the "go honeys" will come out, and the crashes are sure to draw lots of new fans to the sport! It will do what fighting and crashing have done for NHL and NASCAR.
