The first semi-warm day brings out the crazy in everyone. The group ride — bigger because of the warmth — rolls out slowly, socially, before getting to the meat of the day's meal. Though most training plans are calling for steady miles in late January, there's always someone who doesn't really care about that.
And he (or she) wants to get to the front and pin it. Suddenly, the steady, tiring effort turns into survival of the fittest.
So you're left with a decision: Go with the hammer and blow the ride to smithereens or sit up, regroup and continue with the day's planned activity?

The "douche bag" move has half the votes. That's calling a lot of guys douche bags... What's the word for the other end of the spectrum... "Freds"?
