Haymarket Bicycles / HomeVisit spent the weekend racing at the Tour of the Bahamas, a pre-season kickstart for racers sick and tired of winter weather. The big name team in attendance this year was Garmin's development squad, the Holowesko Partners U23 Team.
The local boys showed well, with Steven Gordon notching a 4th in the RR, 6th in the CR and 10th in the TT en route to a 4th in GC. Bryan Vaughan had a breakout RR, finishing 2nd after his involvement in a breakaway that lasted 75 miles. Jared Nieters scored a top 10 of his own in the RR. All three finished in the top 10 in GC. Following Gordon's 4th came Vaughan in 8th and Nieters in 10th. The team finished 2nd in the Team Classification, behind only Holowesko Partners U23.
Update:
This is almost unbelievable - but makes sense with how hard they've been training during the winter.
Well done guys.

I have it on good authority from Steven Gordon's CMO (Chief Motorpacing Officer) that he's been killing it lately to tune up for Belgium. But yeah, it's good to see these guys light it up. Should make for an exciting season locally.

We've got some video and photos, but they're in the mail heading this way now. As soon as I have them, we'll be sure to put them up on the site.
(btw, thanks for helping out at the shop while we were gone, Terry)
