Michael Wagner, a Cat 3 with ABRT, laid down the fastest time at the inaugural GamJams CompuTrainer TT Throwdown p/b Sweat GUTR, winning the Men's B category in 25:38.47 over the 10-mile course. The day's second fastest time - and only other sub-26 - went to NCVC/Spokes etc's Joe Molloy, 9 seconds behind Wagner. Michael Flanagan (Battley Harley-Davidson) won the Men's A with a time of 26:26.79.
The fastest woman was Jen Cheng (CAWES p/b Specialized) at 30:36.73. Course creator Mimi Newcastle used her familiarity with the 10-mile digital road to win the Women's B in 31:18.46.
Squadra Coppi's James Donahue provided some further evidence that course knowledge can improve results. His first run at Conte's in Bethesda on Sunday was in 27:58.16, good enough to net 2nd in the Men's C. His second run immediately afterwards was over a minute faster, giving him the win in Men's C with 26:54.29.

In fairness to the other competitors, I only test rode the course once after I built it. So not that much of an edge. ;-)

Awesome fun and a really cool idea well executed. When one of the TZ races inevitably looks like it'll get canceled in March, I say run another one (though with a different course to mix things up a bit and give the skinny guys a chance).

Great job everyone. But we really need watts - what were the watts?!??!?!

Hey, I just noticed something in the C Division:
7. 32:56.69 Christian WilliamsJames Donahue, Squadra Coppi
Was it Christian or James?
Just wondering...

Oops, that's a cut-and-paste casualty. The time is Christian's.

Any info on watts?
Posted by: Ron | February 17, 2010 at 11:28 AM
We didn't capture watts in our results - just finishing times. But watts were posted on the screen so every racer knows what they put down. If any of you racers want to chime in here with your own numbers, feel free.
I'll start. I weighed in at 176 and averaged 301 for my time of 26:40. That's about 3.8 watts/kg - about what you'd expect from an average Cat 3.
Anyone else?
