The course profile for this weekend's GamJams CompuTrainer TT Throwdown p/b Sweat GUTR looks thusly:
It looks suspisciously like a hill climb, and when GamJams whined as much to course creator Mimi Newcastle, she reassured us, "It's really only truly uphill at the end...the rest are rollers/hills of low grade... nothing more than 1.5% except for one little quarter mile at 2.25% and one 3/10ths at 2.6%. There's even downhills. I was thinking along the lines of Boonsboro when I built it. :-)"
:-) ? Easy for her to say - she's not registered yet. In her attempt to placate us, she conveniently left out mention of the final .25 mile at 8%.
In a related story, it looks like another perfect weekend for indoor riding anyway. Snow on the ground, snow on the roads, snow in the air:
Wouldn't you rather take your suffering this weekend without hypothermia?
Just to clarify... the 8% kicker at the finish was requested when I was asked to build the course... and I did say it was "truly up hill at the end!" The rest you can blame on me.
Unfortunately I have to work this weekend, so I can't do any of the organized sessions - but I do plan to put the TT bike on my computrainer and give the course a full effort (rather than the test rides, which were not done full out) some time over the weekend.

When Mimi and I were discussing the design I thought it would be good to keep people honest at the end of things. I can only assume that I will be positively oozing honesty by the time all is said and done.
Thanks, Mimi!
