The Calendar is probably the most important piece of bicycle racing technology, out pacing even the venerated power meter. It tells you when to plan your peaks, road trips and family vacations, and provides a convenient aggregation of all the races you might want to consider, as well as links to online registration.
It should, anyway. Most don't. The Local Association calendars are a current and thorough list of races within MABRA or VA-Cycling or PA-Cycling. But many of us race across several local associations, meaning we have to keep on top of multiple calendars. And while these are current, they don't always include links to registration (Google calendar doesn't even allow external links), adding another hunting expedition.
Normally that expedition begins with BikeReg. But BikeReg is not a calendar. It's a listing of races on BikeReg, and only on BikeReg. But with many other events now listed on Active.com and SportsBaseOnline and Pre-Reg.com, racers who rely on BikeReg as a calendar will miss out on a lot of fantastic events - including all of those in the GamJams Cat 3 Cup.
The 2010 GamJams Calendar is now up, and is simply more useful than any other calendar ever in the history of Mid-Atlantic bicycle racing. Here's a brief list of features:
- Includes all road races in PA, DE, MD, WV, DC, VA and NC, as well as local favorites outside of the region, like east coast NRC events, The Tour of Battenkill and others
- Links to the registration page for each event
- Subscription options for easy integration with the calendars you're already using - Outlook, Apple iCal, Yahoo!, Google and others
- RSS publishing so you can drop it into iGoogle or anything you might use for your RSS feeds
- Dedicated staffing: GamJams now has a dedicated resource keeping the calendar current, incorporating new events (MTB is next), and of course adding links to registration as soon as they're available.
The Calendar Page is always available from the menu at the top under the "2010 Racing Calendar" tab. Additionally, there is a widget above the NewsRoll on the right listing the events coming up within the next week or two.
Check it out, subscribe to it, suggest an event or send feedback here or leave a comment on this post with any questions or feature requests.
If you'd like to add the GamJams Racing Calendar widget to your site, just ask.
Nice, can't wait until the MTB events are included. This will save me the hours I spend building my own calendar every year.

One of our editors thinks MTB is the next CX, so we're getting more focused on it. But those races are harder to find online. As you (any of you) come across MTB or other races online, please send them to calendar@gamjams.net.
