VeloNews reported yesterday that local buttkickers Haymarket / HomeVisit received an invitational to the Tour of the Battenkill, contested April 18th on a challenging 125-mile road course that is fully 1/5 pavement-challenged. For the 2009 race, Haymarket assembled a composite team, though after some off-season acquisitions boosting their firepower, a composite team would hardly be fair to the pro squads in attendance at Battenkill.
In other Amateur-goes-Pro news, Vanderkitten's Laura Cook (Virginia Beach, VA) has been called up from the amateur squad to race on the professional Vanderkitten p/b Kenda team.
