Not long ago, Nate Wilson graduated from NCVC's productive junior program to the LSV elite squad. Now he's graduating again, first to the US National Team where he will race the 12-stage Vuelta a Guatemala beginning tomorrow, and then to a contract with Pro/Elite squad California Giant Cycling.
The Baltimore Sun has further coverage. GamJams will pass along Nate's results from Guatemala as they come over the transom.
(photo by Jim Wilson, natch. Looks like Chuck Hutch is the only one of the three who now isn't a pro. Whooda thunk?)
Good for Nate! Good for Cal Giant too, thoose guys are pretty cool and he will fit right in. That's sick they are going to be pro, I did not know that.

Yeah, I'm not quite clear on Cal Giant's official status. They're not listed as a UCI Professional team anywhere, so I hedged my bet by calling them Pro/Elite. With guys like Andrew Talansky and Taylor Tolleson this year, it's clear they're racing at the highest level in the States, regardless of official UCI classification.
I also just want to point out that I totally kicked Nate Wilson's butt at Crystal City about 4 years ago. But I think he was about 15 at the time and weighed 83 pounds.

Alright, Nate! I beat Nate's little brother, Avery, when he was about 5, so I feel quite proud also.
Didn't Talansky race with Cal-Giant? Pro or not, those guys are top tier.
