Despite the robust nature of your local race scene (or maybe not), you'd probably like to make changes. It's human nature — we're never quite happy with something, no matter how good it is. It could always be a little better.
At GamJams Survey Headquarters, we know which changes we'd like to see on the local race scene, but our preferences (more tigers, fire and sharks) are probably different than yours. If you could lock all of the local promoters in a room (which is how they make the race schedule, we believe) and ask for one thing, what would they be?
More stage / omnium style races (Crit, TT, Road race in one weekend)

Glad to see that "more road races" is leading (as of the time of my voting). I am a mountain biker who would like to try some road action, but the majority of races out here are crits. As a master racer (by age, not skill...) I have no desire to mix it up on pavement in a cat 5 crit in order to get my 10 races in. With the limited # of road races out there, it would realistically take me 2 seasons to get my upgrade before I could race in the masters class since it seems all the local masters races are "no cat 5s".

Surprised that Omnium/Stage race isn't an option. I see how that format is harder to pull off for promoters but I feel like it's a win/win for promoter/racers alike because it secures multiple event entry instead and it provides great upgrade potential for racers. I'd also think promoters would have more options for securing sponsors when you can get racers to stay in a area for 2-3 days.

Even though I voted "more road races," having been involved in my club's races for years, I know that it is VERY hard to secure and keep a good road race course around here. So, while I bemoan their absence, I understand why there are few.
To the Cat 5 Master, I understand your concern, and I'm no crit monkey any more, but I will say that I've seen as many if not more stupid crashes on straight flat roads during road races than during crits. A tightly packed group on a long straight road constrained by the yellow line is a festival of crossed wheels and impatient riding. At least in a crit everyone is very attentive to the turn that is coming in 15 seconds.

More races/race weekends--In other areas of the country I have seen more weekend races. For example, one club will promote on Sat and another will promote on Sunday. Both will be in the same general area so people could stay over if needed. Seems like, in looking at the MABRA schedule, there are only races on Sat all season long.
