If you read GamJams – and I assume you do – you know what we are all about: putting ProTour focus on AmateurTour racers. We’re all about giving the guys and gals on the corporate park circuit their 2x20 minutes of fame. We’re also about being the place to go when racers need to know what’s happening on the local scene.
If you want to write for GamJams, drop me a line and we’ll work out some details.
If you want more details, here’s what we’re looking for:
- Coaching Tips – If you are a coach, feel free to link to your site in the article (and consider long-term relationships with our advertising department!).
- Bike Maintenance / Wrenching Tips – We welcome “shade tree mechanics” with useful tips.
- Nutrition Discussions – Got a case of vegan’ism or something? Tell the rest of the peloton why it makes you faster.
- Race Reports – Found a particularly good, new race out there? Tell the rest of us where to go to get our fix.
- Refueling Racers – Know a good, cyclist-friendly spot that serves up go-faster food? Tell us all about it.
- Team Updates / Changes – Is your team changing it’s membership? Recruiting? Doing something cool? Tell us about it.
- Miscellaneous – If it involves going fast on two skinny tires, we are interested. Send it our way.
Guidelines:
- We’re looking for the amateur focus. Maybe it's local amateurs, or maybe it's advice or news that is local association agnostic. But no one needs another article about why Cavendish should or should not join Sky and why the UCI Testing Protocol needs to be updated.
- We want to highlight the positives in the racing community. Sure, it’s a good idea to warn others when there are strange things afoot at the Circle K, but for the most part, we’re all about celebrating the accomplishments of teams, individuals and race promoters in our ranks.
- We are glad to promote charity events and causes, but we can’t be everyone’s “free publicity.” So if you want to promote your team’s new crit, omnium or century ride, work with us by paying the nominal fee of $25/article (PayPal, it’s easy.). For less than one rider’s registration fee, you will reach around 3,000 potential registration fees every day we talk about your event.
- Understand that we reserve the right to edit for grammar, spelling, style and – occasionally – good taste. We don’t always write good, but we try.
- Style Guide – We’ll sort this out. Just send us your article in .doc or .rtf format. Include pictures, if applicable, but make sure they are self-explanatory as we may or may not do a fancy caption.
In summary, if you want to write something for GamJams, drop me a line and we can talk.
