Anyone - regardless of category, age, gender, location or racing discipline - can join GS GamJams. But who should?

Fast Newbies: GS GamJams is the principal scouting grounds for GamJams Cat 3 Racing. Only racers on GS GamJams will be drafted into GamJams Cat 3 Racing during the racing season. So if you'd like to race for the GamJams supported team and think you may get your Cat 3 upgrade in 2010, better do it from inside GS GamJams.

The Unattached: It sometimes takes a couple of years to find the team that's a perfect long-term fit. If you're unattached and looking around, why not join GS GamJams in the interim? No pressure to stay, and we wish you well when you move on. While you're here you'll save some money on equipment, and avoid paying those $5 unattached fees every game day. You'll also gain valuable experience promoting races, clinics, and writing race reports - all of which will serve you well in the future regardless of where you end up.

You and your friends: Maybe you and a few of your friends have thoughts about starting your own team. But then you see that it's time-consuming. And expensive. And kind of a pain in the chamois. Think of GS GamJams as your Team-in-a-Box. Bring your friends over, train together, race together, talk smack together, make excuses together. Leave the sponsor-pitching, deal-making, infrastructure-building and form-filling to us.

But why join? What's GS GamJams all about?

Like it or not, your team kit says something about you. It says that you believe in the club's mission, and you're proud enough to say so.

The mission of GS GamJams is the same as GamJams itself:

• To recognize that amateur racers are as heroic as professionals, and to support the organizations that help us to enjoy our sport.
• To make bicycle racing more inclusive, by creating smoother inroads for new racers.
• To innovate, respect, represent.

We aim to do right by the sport. The more of us there are, the more we can accomplish.

What's expected of GS GamJams members?

We want you to be involved in racing - whatever that means to you. Competing in road, TT, cross, track, MTB, multisport events is great. So is officiating, organizing, promoting, volunteering, photographing and mobilizing around the racing scene in any way. But minimum racing frequency, mandatory participation at certain races, meeting attendance - we've got none of that.

There will be volunteer opportunities at races and clinics, like any club. But GS GamJams will be driven largely by the membership. If there is a way you want to take some initiative - create a TT series, promote a race, support a regional cycling initiative, build a velodrome in your yard - you can count on the full media support of GamJams behind you. The purpose of this club is to do more for cycling. Everything we do is pointed in that direction.
