GamJams readers say the nicest things:
Before I started racing bikes, I was already hooked on Gamjams. I stumbled upon it in a google search for other bike information. I fell in love with the site from day 1. I enjoyed reading the race reports and hearing about group rides. I also love how it gave me a peek into the lives of other people that I would ride with on a daily basis but not really know, like that crazy guy with the salsa bike in the evo kit who always trys unsuccessfully to breakaway. After I started racing and joined a team I would frequent the site to get knowledge about upcoming races and different strategies I could use to win. Anyway I say all that to say that I love this site and would hate to see it go away it connects the cycling community in this tri-state area like nothing else, besides if it did go away I would have to pick another internet homepage, and nothing else is worthy.

GamJams is the Public Voice of Cycling in MABRA.
GamJams is the first blog on cycling I read regularly; the only web presence on local racing to which I subscribe. Everything that a MABRA racer needs to know about the scene can be found here. Heck, I even learned the story behind a saddle lying in the middle of the road on the PTMTT course last year by reading this blog! Your site gets the word out to all who care to be in the know. I look here for coaching advice, to research each race, and to speak my mind on the issues that matter most to bike racing in MABRA. ...Mike, MABRA, USACycling, and the local teams should be your biggest sponsors. Any vendor who sponsors your site gets my business.

I quickly stumbled upon GamJams when I decided to switch from running to road racing earlier this year. This site, and the blogs it aggregates, helped me locate group rides, identify local races, and--later--find a team that fit me and my goals.

What Mike May has done to promote the local racing community through not only his extensive aggregation of racing blogs, but entertaining content is nothing short of amazing. We are not professional cyclists and don't have the opportunity to be written up in CyclingNews, VeloNews or Pez. GamJams has provided a great media outlet for our racing community. In addition, he has driven an unbelievable amount of traffic to each of his GamJams ambassadors. I believe that Mike and GamJams have single-handedly reinvigorated an already thriving cycling community. Keep up the great work, Mike!

I am so glad I happened upon GamJams! I had been out of racing for about eight years due to military obligations and was recently stationed here in DC when I found time to race again. GamJams got me right back into the scene, uipdating me on the who's who, where the races are and what there like, and got me up to speed on what is cool and what gear to buy. GamJams has been a great source of information and entertainment. Thanks Mike.

Over the past few years, cycling has consumed and re-defined my life, in ways all positive. Before I hop on my bike and commute to work, I sit down with my mug of coffee and log onto GamJams. Not just on occasion but Every Day (or several times daily!) GamJams gives our cycling community so much: the schedules, the race reports, the coaching tips, and (perhaps best of all) the personalities and inner workings of our fellow pedalers. GamJams is the voice, it is the glue, it is the compass. GamJams keeps us all connected throughout the year, and it serves as a constant reminder that we are part of a great sport and part of a very special community. Keep Rollin'.

GamJams has become a regular destination on my daily news search. It has also been the #1 source of information regarding the mid-atlantic race scene, training secrets, and information on fellow cyclists. I'm a huge fan of the site and of Mike for hosting it for us.

Every morning, first thing, you have to check Gamjams to see the what, where, why, and how of racin' Mid-Atlantic. Without you, Mike, we are all lost in the desert!

GamJams has been a great support to pretty much every part of the cycling in the mid atlantic and beyond. Everything that is written here is presented in a positive manner and is pretty even handed with riders from every team/club. I get many contacts from riders who have told me they know me from the bits I have written for GamJams so I know it is being read.

Gamjams.net has been an incredible addition to Mid-Atlantic cycling. Besides serving as a much-needed clearinghouse of cycling information, it enhances the community of racers and riders in the area. Gamjams has facilitated the development of relationships between racers, and those relationships have made racing more fun in 2008. Additionally, a number of our team sponsors, both in the cycling industry and outside of it, have seen their names and logos on the gamjams site and shown greater interest in sponsoring our team as a result.

Hey Mike, I dig your site and find the info on tactics and strategies for upcoming races invaluable. I enjoy the links to other blogs and the heads up on who is up-grading. Keep up the great work! I hit this site regularly and would miss it if it went away.

Since I began racing this year, I've relied on GamJams for timely information on events, training, products, and people. It's the only source that provides everything I need to know about local racing (and sometimes, national racing) in one place. Example: I was wondering last night about where/how I could take an intro cyclocross clinic. So what's today's leadout riff? Cyclocross clinics at Ft. Reno! Great work GamJams--thanks for keeping us on point!

Love gamjams. Read it daily, often write responses. I've been to most of the sponsors sites also. Everyone on my team visits the site also--it's the online place for the MABRA community.

GamJams is the central hub of the mid-Atlantic cycling community. It has connected us. It has rallied us. It has expanded us. Sure, Velonews and Cyclingnews are fun to peruse, but GamJams is the site that I check a couple times a day, because it’s about what’s happening in my world. Actually, GamJams is what has made the Mid-Atlantic cycling community a part of my world. Now that I have discovered this website, I feel like my cycling “world” has expanded immensely – it’s no longer just me and my team.
Plus, Mike May’s style is entertaining and fun to read. I have friends who read this site who live on the other side of the States!
Whenever I meet someone who shows interest in cycling, I refer them to this website. It has it all.

When I am not riding my bike, I am stuck behind a desk practicing law and/or accounting as an attorney/CPA. When working at the desk, I check Gamjams at least once a day to see what is going on in the MABRA cycling world and to see which riders have updated their blogs. Gamjams is just a wealth of information for those of us that care about MABRA cycling.
Gamjams also gives back to the cycling community. One example that sticks out in my mind is the fund raising help that Gamjams gave to Team Hall Nissan and Keith Mitchell's family last year after Keith Mitchell suffered a massive and fatal heart attack while racing in the Crystal City Classic. With Gamjams' help, Team Hall Nissan was able to raise more money than it needed for the memorial to Keith Mitchell, and I believe the remaining funds were set aside in a college fund for Keith's kids.
Not only is Gamjams a great site for cycling enthusiasts, but the owner of the site is a great guy. I've done "battle" with Mike May on the race course, and he is one of the guys out there that I do not mind losing to. Granted, I don't like losing, but if I have to lose, Mike is one of the guys I would like to see beat me.

A brief note to thank you for all of your efforts with GamJams. The site is a major contributor to the MABRA community. A race weekend isn’t really over until you’ve updated us with all of the gory details and linked us to the best first hand accounts of the action. The Coaches Tips, Winner’s Notebook are a tremendous help in preparing for races.
As a relatively new racer, I can say with certainty that apart from my team, GamJams has been the most helpful resource in getting involved with racing.

GAMJAMS is the best place for everything MABRA. It kinda binds together a community that is otherwise fractured by various listservs, team web sites etc. It's one of the first places I send fellow triathletes who ask me about Bike races.
It is THE place to go for race prep. BJ Basham covers all the essentials of upcoming races. I would not think of racing without spending some time with BJs analysis before hand.
I would be willing to change my habits (where I spend cycling dollars) if it meant keeping GAMJAMS going.
